Located 8 miles east of Lake Placid on Route 86 and in the shadow of Whiteface Mountain,  you can capture sight of the west branch of the famous AuSable River as it explodes into deep crevices in its 700 foot journey through ancient granite cliffs formed over a billion years ago by the forces of ice, water and wind.

Self guided tours are available all year long. The standard tour is a half mile round trip.
