Day Three – Rest Day in Camp Muir

We planned to have a rest day after arriving. This allowed us time to prepare for the summit push. We melted and filtered extra water, played in the local area by climbing on the Muir rock outcroppings and prepared the rope teams and took plenty of pictures. Those team members that stayed in the public shelter now had to move out and set up their own tents. We had a very casual day.

Jeffery returned from his successful summit bid and Sherpa talked with him and Ben to get the latest route conditions. All looked good for our summit bid that evening. The weather promised to be sunny with little wind, but too damn hot! We all tried to crash around 6:00 pm, but sleep was not to be had. I figure at the most, I had 2 hours of restless sleep before the midnight alarm went off.
